MapTap gg in a browser

MapTap is a tap-to-place geography game, not a typed country name quiz. Each day publishes five clues. Many tie to events that fell on today's calendar date. You rotate NASA Blue Marble imagery, zoom, and plant a pin. The engine measures haversine distance on a 6,371 km mean radius.

Round weights are 1, 1, 2, 3, and 3. Missing the last two locations costs more than missing the first. A tap inside the correct country cannot score below 25. A tap on the correct continent cannot score below 10. That is why a rough country hit still beats a precise pin on the wrong ocean.
